Coral Tree Foundation is working to change that through community-led clean energy initiatives.

Our solar electrification programs provide sustainable energy solutions to households in underserved villages. By introducing solar home lighting systems, families gain access to safer homes, better study environments for children, and new livelihood opportunities after sunset.

Clean energy does more than provide light—it improves health, education, and economic opportunities. Children can study at night, women can work more safely, and households can reduce spending on temporary fuel sources.

A unique part of our initiative is women-led implementation. Local women are trained in solar engineering, maintenance, and community support, creating both employment and long-term sustainability. These “Solar Sahelis” become trusted leaders who manage energy systems within their own villages.
